Delete your account
- Open Read Bro and go to the You tab.
- Tap the settings gear at the top right.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Tap Delete to confirm.
This permanently deletes your account and everything in it: saves, highlights, streak and reading progress. It can't be undone. You don't need to contact us, and guests can do it the same way. The privacy policy says exactly what is deleted.
Questions
Do I need an account?
No. You can read every book as a guest. An account keeps your place, your streak and your saves if you change phones.
To make one, open the You tab and tap Create account, then choose Sign in with Apple, Continue with Google or Continue with email. What you read as a guest moves to the new account.
How do I keep my reading on a new phone?
Sign in on the new phone with the same method you used before. Your progress, saves, highlights and streak are kept on the account.
A guest has no account to come back to. If you sign out as a guest, or delete the app, your streak and saves go.
How does the streak work?
A day counts when you read at least 3 screens or 100 words that day, by your phone's time zone.
What if I miss a day?
A grace day covers 1 missed day, once per calendar month. Missing 2 or more days in a row resets the streak. There is nothing to buy.
Going away? Pause your streak for 1 to 14 days from the You tab. Paused days don't count as missed.
Why does Define say “No entry for this word”?
Define uses the dictionary on your iPhone. If no dictionary is downloaded, or the word isn't in it, you see “No entry for this word” and a Search the web button.
To add a dictionary, open your iPhone's Settings, then General, then Dictionary, and download one.
How do reminders work?
They are optional and scheduled on your phone: Daily reminder, Tonight's book and Weekly recap, in Settings, Reminders. iOS asks your permission first.
Reminders are never about a streak you've already lost.
Why does the app ask for Photos when I save a share card?
Save Image puts the card in your photo library, so iOS asks for permission to add it. The app only adds the card. It never reads your photos.
Why does a book look different from a printed copy?
Each book is a public-domain classic, cut into short screens you swipe up. The words are the author's, in the author's order: nothing is summarised, shortened or rewritten.
The app checks every chapter word for word before it is published. Only the screen breaks are ours.
How do I delete my account?
You tab, the settings gear, Account, Delete account, then Delete. Everything in the account is deleted at once and can't be undone. Guests can do this too. The steps are also at the top of this page.
Are there purchases or a subscription to cancel?
No. The app has no purchases and no subscription, so there is nothing to restore or cancel.
